How to hide Instagram Explore and suggested posts with ScrollFix
Choose which parts of Instagram to see inside ScrollFix while preserving the social tasks you still want to do.
ScrollFix includes supported filters for Explore and suggested posts when Instagram is opened inside ScrollFix. These filters change the in-app browsing experience; they do not change your Instagram account everywhere or remove features from the original app.
Explore, Reels, and suggestions are different
A Reels filter addresses one short-form entry point. Explore is a discovery surface, while suggested posts can introduce accounts you did not specifically choose to follow. If you remove one and still find yourself distracted by another, check which surface you are actually using.
Keep your goal concrete. “I want to reply to messages and check friends’ posts” is easier to configure around than “I want Instagram to be less distracting.” You can then decide which optional elements still serve that goal.
Configure your filtered experience
- Open Instagram inside ScrollFix and sign in if you want account features.
- Find the Instagram filtering controls.
- Choose the supported Explore and suggested-post filters, and decide whether to hide Reels as well.
- Check a normal messaging or posting task before settling on the configuration.
Stories are optional too. You can retain them if they are how you keep up with friends, rather than removing every visual element by default.
Set realistic expectations
Filters depend on the pages Instagram delivers, which can change. Different accounts or service updates may also produce different interfaces. If an element reappears, check your settings and the app version, then report the issue.
A filtered interface is not an enforcement boundary for every link someone sends you. You can still choose to use another app or browser. If your goal is a period with no access to Instagram at all, compare a whole-app restriction instead.
Signing in
Instagram sign-in happens on the service’s own pages. ScrollFix’s Privacy Policy explains local WebKit storage and what information the app does and does not collect. Keep passwords, verification codes, and private messages out of support requests.
